Great event last night at The Green Room Lounge in De Pere. The presentation on experiential marketing was incredibly interesting and thought provoking. Here is a quick recap of the presentation by Ian Lawrow of Svedvik Collective in case you missed it.

He discussed the benefits of experiential marketing:

  1. Authentic
  2. Sponsorship activation
  3. Get consumers to test/sample new products (Like the Yoplait Blind Taste Test)
  4. Differentiate/Dimensionalize (Dasani and New Balanace join forces to educate consumers why their products are more earth friendly.)
  5. Obtain consumer insights
  6. Enhance your marketing channels (Dasani used high speed video cameras to make videos people loved to share)

He shared some really interesting case studies:

How to measure ROI with experiential marketing:

  1. Social media
  2. Follow up incentives
  3. Guest surveys
  4. Impressions (ie. Amount of traffic that drives/walks past your event on a given day)

Ian encouraged us to surprise and delight our consumers to leave a deeper impression on them. He discussed seeking out brand zealots and giving them opportunities to share stories about your product/services because 59% of consumers rely mostly on friends and family for a brand recommendation before buying.
